Emily and Will were “supposed” to have a big fancy wedding at a dream venue, but due to the pandemic of 2020 they opted to still get married on their date and have their wedding at her parents’ house in New York. What a great decision it turned out to be because it still was their dream wedding and I thought it was perfect.
- When planning your wedding, what were you most looking forward to? Food tasting & cocktail hour were what we were looking forward to but that changed as soon as we decided to have a ‘shift wedding’ in Emily’s parent’s backyard. That is when planning kicked into high gear and we both were excited to have an intimate ceremony and hear each others vows.
- What were some of your favorite moments from your wedding day? We rode in the bed of a 1959 big blue Chevy pick up truck around the block to celebrate saying ‘I do’ and it was so fun. Our families cheered us on and followed us in their own cars honking their horns and it became this very special moment that we would not have had if it wasn’t for our Covid-19 wedding.
- If you could do it all again, would you change anything? Not a thing! Loved every moment. (except maybe would have eaten some more of the yummy food!)
- Any advice for future couples planning their weddings? Try not to stress too much. It’s only one day and the most important thing is that you get to marry each other and share that day with the ones you love the most. Nothing will top your feelings on your wedding day so make sure you take the time to step back and soak it in.
- Is there anything else you would like to add? If Danette is going to be your wedding photographer I can guarantee you have made one of the best decisions that you can make throughout your planning process! Not only are the pictures fabulous (everyone raves about ours! ❤️) but she is so aware of what you need as a couple on your day. You are not just another job for her! She cares about you both, your happiness and makes sure you are comfortable at all times. She and her team are so talented and even with the craziness of covid, she made us feel at ease. Thank you so much Danette!
