2018 was a really good year for me! I was recently ranked in the top 25 in the world (holy crap) by the Wedding Photojournalist Association. This is an organization that “… hosts multiple wedding photography contests each year, awarding only the most captivating and engaging photos.” This is truly a great honor for me as you can imagine. There’s only a small percentage of a wedding day where I can “control” the situation… meaning, portraits and details. But the other 80-90% of the day is purely documenting the wedding with my camera as I see the stories unfold, not directing or interjecting myself into the moment. A candid, photojournalistic approach to weddings is my jam. Most of the wedding day I am patiently waiting behind the camera to press the shutter button at the decisive moment. It’s the good stuff that I keep talking about! Thank you WPJA for rewarding all my hard work. If you’d like to see the winning images, click here.
