Asbury Park Wedding: Michelle & Dave

Michelle and Dave did it! They planned and executed a wedding in 40 days. Who needs a year to plan anymore? Everything came together and it went off without a hitch in Asbury Park, NJ. When I first talked to them about their wedding they described it to me as “colorful and weird”. They wanted lots of vibrancy and color, Asbury Park, and their favorite pizza joint to all be characters in their wedding day. Well, it was certainly colorful but it turned out to be a very sweet and intimate event and I’m so happy that I was able to photograph it for them.

Chakra Salon was where Michelle was pampered and prepped and then we headed back to their home where she dressed and did their first look together. Dave had a surprise for Michelle for their first look as you will see below! He seems to always be making her laugh and they are such a good match as she thinks all his jokes are funny! 🙂 Their ceremony was reminiscent of a flash mob: their guests were told to meet at the old casino along the boardwalk where they simply formed a circle around our couple and witnessed them exchange vows. For a very public spot the 20 minutes seemed very private and it was emotional all around. They chose Porta Pizza to host their family and friends and it was a delicious reception. (mmmm truffle oil).

Michelle and Dave are photographers themselves and I was honored to create these images for them. Enjoy this preview, my favorites from the day…
