And yet, so many women move through this season quietly, showing up for everyone else while rarely pausing to see themselves.
40 Over Forty was created to honor this moment. To celebrate women not for who they used to be, and not for who they are becoming — but for who they are right now.
This is about being seen — fully and without apology.
What is 40 Over Forty?
40 Over Forty is a portrait experience celebrating women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.
Each participant is photographed in a guided studio session designed to feel empowered, natural, and entirely her own.
The finished portraits will be featured in a private gallery exhibition bringing together forty remarkable women from our community.
Why I Created 40 Over 40
I’m in this chapter too. I know what it feels like to carry more stories, more strength, more perspective than we did at 25. I created 40 Over 40 because I believe this season deserves to be seen — not quietly passed through.

The Experience
From our first conversation to the final exhibition, each step is designed to feel thoughtful, personal, and fully supported.

Consultation & Planning
We begin with a personal consultation to talk through your story, your style, and how you want to be seen. Wardrobe guidance is provided so you feel confident and prepared before you ever step into the studio.

Professional Styling
Professional hair and makeup artistry is included on the day of your session — thoughtfully applied to enhance, never mask. The result is polished, natural, and unmistakably you.

Guided Studio Session
Whether you feel completely at ease in front of the camera or a little unsure, you’ll be thoughtfully guided throughout. Direction is always available — but there is space for spontaneity, personality, and your own ideas to come forward naturally.

Image Reveal & Artwork Selection
After your session, we’ll review your portraits together and select your included framed fine art print for the exhibition. If you fall in love with more than one, additional images and artwork will be available for purchase. After the gallery reception, your framed portrait will be yours to take home and enjoy.

Gallery Exhibition & Reception
Your portrait will be displayed alongside 39 other remarkable women at a gallery-style exhibition celebrating this chapter of life. The reception brings everyone together — a moment of recognition, connection, and community.
Session Fee — $690
The session fee for the 40 Over 40 experience is $690 and includes the following:
Personal consultation

Expert retouching
One framed fine art portrait featured in the exhibition

What You Might Be Wondering
When will my session take place?
Sessions will take place throughout the duration of the 40 Over 40 project. Once your spot is reserved, we’ll schedule a date that works for you. All sessions are held on weekdays at the studio and are thoughtfully planned in advance.
Where is the studio located?
The studio is located in Clinton, New Jersey. You’ll receive full details, directions, and parking information once your session is confirmed.
I’m nervous in front of the camera. Is this for me?
Absolutely. Most women tell us they feel nervous before their session — and leave saying they had far more fun than they expected. You’ll be guided every step of the way. You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do. Your job is simply to show up as you are. We’ll take care of the rest.
What should I wear?
After reserving your spot, you’ll receive guidance to help you prepare. We’ll talk through wardrobe, styling, and how you want to feel in your portraits. The goal is for you to look like the most confident version of yourself — not someone else.
What’s included in the session fee?
Your $690 session fee includes a pre-session consultation, professional hair and makeup, a fully guided portrait session, your featured framed portrait in the exhibition, and admission to the gallery reception. It’s designed to be a complete, start-to-finish experience.
Will my images be shared publicly?
Yes. This project is designed to celebrate women in a public way. Your portrait will be displayed at the exhibition and may be shared on the studio website, social media, and marketing materials connected to the 40 Over 40 project. We will always represent you with care and respect.
Will I receive digital images?
Your session fee includes your featured exhibition portrait as a framed fine art piece, and its corresponding digital file. Additional images and digital files will be available for purchase after your session. There is no obligation to purchase anything beyond what’s included.
Do I have to purchase additional artwork?
No. There is no minimum purchase requirement. Many participants choose to add additional artwork or digital images after seeing their portraits, but it is entirely optional.
When and where will the exhibition take place?
The exhibition will be held locally in the Clinton, NJ area. Final venue details and the event date will be announced as the project nears completion. All participants will receive advanced notice.
